online Peer Support Group for relatives of those with mental ill health

When someone in the family, or a friend, experiences mental ill health, or issues related to substance use, it can affect the whole family. Relatives may be worried, feel down and need to process considerable changes to their everyday lives. In this group we create a supportive space for sharing and processing these experiences.

Everyone in the group agrees to be bound by confidentiality. The group meets monthly and remotely over Zoom or Teams. It is free of charge and you can join at any time.

Facilitating the group is Christina Sjöström. Christina is a Finnish national who recently relocated to Finland after living in the United Kingdom for many years. She is a psychodynamic counsellor accredited with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP Accred) and holds a PhD in Psychoanalytic Studies.

Christina also offers time-limited counselling. This service is available to anyone who has a relative with diagnosed, or undiagnosed mental ill health, or issues related to substance use. Counselling offers emotional support, and information on mental health.

Appointments can be arranged on location in Vaasa, over the phone, or by video call. Counselling is free of charge.

For more information please get in touch with Christina.
